Local Trio Through to BARLA CUP Quarter Final.
Skirlaugh Bulls will make the short journey across the city to take on West Hull in the Quarter-Finals of the BARLA National Cup after their 40-16 victory over Maryport-based Glasson Rangers in Cumbria on Saturday. Wests, the Trophy holders, had a bye into the next stage after their Colchester-based opponents Eastern Rhinos withdrew.
Myton Warriors, whose last foray into the competition led to a place in the Final, face the long journey to Barrow-In-Furness to take on Walney Central after their easy victory over Queensbury at Marist. The visitors tried hard and never gave up but were ultimately outclassed by the Warriors who were massively improved from their friendly against Beverley last week, albeit against weaker opposition.
West Hull first-teamers Scott Partis and Louis Crowther helped a very young West Hull 'A' to a comfortable victory over York Acorn in a pre-season Yorkshire Men's League friendly. The youngsters will be playing in the Premier Division this season so a victory over a much more experienced Acorn was a booster.
Myton Warriors 'A' travelled across the city to face Lambwath Lions in another YML friendly and it was good to see the Lions bounce back from a couple of heavy defeats in the Challenge Cup and the BARLA National Cup to win 42-12
