Josh Poskitt: Behind the success of Beverley

Following an amazing season with Beverley ARLFC being promoted as NCL Division 3 Champions, GRM's Harry Brigham went down to catch up with a young rising back rower, Josh Poskitt, to discuss how the club was so successful on the pitch and what impact Josh had within a champion side.

Beverley have been covered by GRM on multiple occasions and you can watch them in action by following the links below!

Josh was asked the following questions about a fantastic season for his own performances and the team success.
1: You was promoted with Beverley first but how did you keep focus and concentration on your way to achieving the Division 3 championship?
" Firstly, it started back in pre-season where we set our sights on just a steady first year back in NCL and maybe a play-off spot if we was lucky, but the wins kept coming and coming and confidence built amongst the boys."

2. When you first arrived at Beverley, how welcoming was the rest of the team and how easy did that play a part to you settling in to the club?
" After leaving City Of Hull, it was an easy choice to choose Beverley as I knew a lot of the players through my brother Lewis, once you go down to the club everyone is so welcoming people don’t really leave once they’ve been down."
3. How would you assess your own individual performances this season?
" It’s been a bit frustrating this season for me as I’ve missed around three months through an ankle injury but it’s good to be back playing again helping the club win promotion."
4. What position have you preferred to play this season?
"I have played most of my games on the wing , but I do prefer playing centre but it’s wherever the coaches need me to play."
5. Do you any extras after training?
" I practice my goal kicking before and after training."

6. Finally, going up a division will be another challenge for your team, do you feel that you may need to change your style of rugby to approach the new division or keep the same style of play that has brought you the success in division 3?
" I think we have shown this season that we are ready for the step up; we expect things to be a little more physical in division 2, but the style of rugby we play is expansive and with our young team we should only improve.
