Dean Hadley: Skirlaugh to Super League!
Dean Hadley, 24, knows what it takes to make it to be big leagues. A product of the Hull FC Academy, and no stranger to hardship; Dean shared some advice for players currently playing at Grassroots level and how they too could make move up the ranks!
Hadley, who states his strongest playing position is Second-Row or Loose-Forward, has been with Hull FC since he was 11 on a scholarship. Dean worked his way up through the ranks to make his first team debut in 2013.
"I played for Skirlaugh in my junior days and since playing as a pro, I've played some games at both York and Doncaster on dual reg and I'm currently on a season long loan at Wakefield".
Dean described Greg Bird as the toughest player he has ever played against in the Super League " Greg is a quality player and makes a huge difference for Catalan. He's also a very tough and niggly player".
The versatile back-rower has not let injury get in the way of his form. His impressive performances at Super League Club - Wakefield Trinity, has led to him being awarded a contract extention at the club.
Dean was happy to share some advice and playing memories with Grassroots Rugby Media:
"My greatest rugby memory is making my first team debut against Catalan at home. As a kid this seemed an impossible dream, but to make my debut was my best rugby moment. For a junior player hoping to make it through the ranks, attitude comes before skill. A good attitude goes a long way to achieving what you want".
Thanks a lot Dean, and we wish you every success with your playing career.
