North Hull Knights vs Brownies Bulldogs
North Hull Knights face a tough task in the quarter-finals of the Bartlett's Barla Yorkshire Cup after a comprehensive victory over Brownies Bulldogs at Shaw Park on Saturday. The Knights have to visit Sharlston Rovers, 44-22 conquerors of Hull Wyke at the weekend, though they will be buoyed by the weekend's performance. The Bulldogs provided stiff opposition in the first half when the score flattered the Knights but it was the home side who took complete control in the second period to run out 40-10 winners.
Three Tuns, beaten in last year's Final by the now defunct Fryston, travelled to Ossett Trinity for what looked a tough encounter but came away with a superb 25-18 victory. Strengthened by many of the Norland team, who won the Yorkshire Men's League Division One title, Tuns look to have the class and experience to go all the way again though they also have to travel in the next round. A trip to East Leeds is never easy and Reckitts found their powerful opponents much too strong on Saturday, going down 24-50.
Lambwath Lions took on Newsome Panthers in Round Two but found the visitors just too strong though the winners won't be relishing a trip to Castleford to face Lock Lane in the last eight.
Bilton Sullys had their first run-out of the campaign in the Hull and District Open Age League but found Bransholme, who had played well at North Hull last week, hitting top form and went down 12-64.
